Points of interest along the walk
Point 1: Riccarton House Walk
To the right of Riccarton House is the old cottage, behind the cottage is the entrance to Riccarton Bush. It looks like the main entrance to a prison, it is what the DOC call a predator fence, helps to keep out the four legged creatures.
Riccarton House walk is half gravel the other half is laid in concrete. Keeping the four legged creatures out has allowed the native tui and bellbirds to resettle in the Riccarton bush again.
So take advantage of the seats along the walk, sit-down and enjoy their lyrics of the bellbirds and tuis.
