Points of interest along the walk
Point 1: Thompson Track Road End
To the end of the main road to the car park is an 6 Km drive.
the start of the track is on your right. it has just had a good clean up. the only problem is the creek. which is only 15 minutes into the Mt Eliza walk.
Point 2: Mt Eliza mine
Around 40 minutes you will come across the turn off to Mt Eliza mine, north south track, motutapere hut and Tuahu track. from here on it is up hill all the way to Mt Eliza Mine. the clearing you walk through is were the Mt Eliza mining company had there camp. there is a small sign at the turn off to the mine. you only have 50Mt to walk.
