Mission Bay offers a variety of walks with great ocean views
Whether you’re looking for a stroll along the beach, a more challenging walk with stunning views or a family-friendly outing, there’s a walk here for you.
One popular option is the St Heliers to Mission Bay Path, a scenic 5 km loop that takes in both bays. The path starts at St Heliers Beach, follows the waterfront past Kohimarama Beach, and then loops around Mission Bay before returning to St Heliers. Along the way, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of Rangitoto Island and the Waitemata Harbour.
If you’re looking for something a bit more challenging, the Mission Bay to Okahu Bay Loop is a great option. This 4.5-kilometer walk takes you along Tamaki Drive, past Orakei Domain and Bastion Point, and offers stunning views of the city skyline.
For a shorter walk with historical significance, check out the MJ Savage Memorial Park walk. This 1-kilometer loop goes past the MJ Savage Memorial, a large obelisk that commemorates New Zealand’s 23rd Prime Minister. The park also has a playground, making it a great family option.
No matter which walk you choose, you’re sure to enjoy the beautiful scenery and relaxed atmosphere of Mission Bay.
