I absolutely love taking walks in Devonport! Not surprising as I actually live here – wow aren’t I lucky!

It’s such a charming and picturesque place to explore on foot. One of my favourite routes is the scenic stroll along Cheltenham Beach to North Head, with its sandy beach and stunning views of Rangitoto Island.

On sunny afternoons, I often head to North Head Historic Reserve, where I can immerse myself in the views.

The Devonport Waterfront Promenade is another gem, stretching from the ferry building to North Head. That’s where I took the sunset photo at the top of this page. Devonport is perfect for a leisurely walk with occasional stops for coffee or ice cream.

When I’m in the mood for some exercise, I’ll walk up Mount Victoria, where the panoramic views of the city and the Hauraki Gulf are simply breathtaking.

Devonport truly offers a wide range of walks to suit every mood and occasion. Not to mention the super cute shops and wickedly awesome cafes, I’m truly spoilt!

If you’re short on time and want to pack in seeing Devonport and it’s two volcano’s, then take the one and only bus tour, it’s 1 hour 15 mins and starts right from the ferry building.
