The track is nice and wide with good gravel. You can also walk the Otago Central Trail as well. Of course it will take you a lot longer to go from Clyde to Alexandra!

You have to cross the Clyde Alexandra Road to get to the start of the Otago Central Rail Trail. It is only 8 km into Alexandra. If you feel like a good bike ride, Middlemarch is only 150km down the Trail. At the start are clean toilets and a place to sit and sort out your gear.
It was a good ride. I though it was a slight down hill ride for the last twenty minutes. There is a toilet 15 minutes into the ride, just after Muttontown Viaduct. The trail runs along side the main road so help is not far away. Now I will have to leave the great Otago Central Rail Trail and head back to the camp ground.
