Discovering Omaha Beach: A Lovely Coastal Beach Loop Walk
On May 5th, it was a cool, cloudy day, perfect for a walk. I headed out to do the Omaha Beach and parked the car near the surf club in the big parking lot. This path along the coast is a great mix of pretty views and handy amenities, making it a solid choice for a day outside, no matter your age.

Full walk description
Omaha Beach itself is a beautiful spot with wide, white sandy beaches and clear waters. Even though the surf was small, it was still stunning. There weren’t too many people around, making it nice and quiet. The mild weather made it even better.
There’s plenty of parking at Omaha Beach, so it’s easy to get started on the loop. Right by the carpark, where the loop starts, there are toilets, which are super handy for anyone about to walk the path. There’s also a kids’ playground nearby, which is great for families. I took a peek in the cafe, but not sure how good it would be. The little superette was expensive but excellent.
Walking along the beach, I passed people fishing off the rocks, showing just how rich the marine life is here. There were plenty of little boats out trying their luck as well.
A real treat was spotting a dottle, a kind of elusive bird, in the protected areas along the shore. It was a cool sight for someone like me who loves wildlife. There were lots of oystercatcher birds too.
The Omaha Beach Loop walk has it all—beautiful scenery, activities for the family, and easy access. Whether you love walking, want a day out with the family, or are keen to see some local wildlife, this coastal path is a fantastic choice for a fulfilling day out.
