Great short walk to the top of St Paul’s Rock
We started this walk by arriving by boat and tying the dinghy up at the wharf next to the game fishing club. There is plenty of parking if coming by car.
Walk along the foreshore until you reach the turnoff to the right, there is a nice sign reading “St Paul’s Walking Track”. Follow the road which turns to gravel, until you see the DOC sign and steps over the fence.
Follow the track all the way to the very top of the rock. It’s hard going as it’s straight up. Just before you reach the very top there is a tricky bit where you’ll have to rock climb using the chains hanging from the rocks to pull yourself up.
Enjoy the absolutely awesome views from the top.
