Great short loop walk on a sunny day in Auckland
Enjoy this walk if you’re visiting Sullivan’s Bay at Mahurangi Regional Park. The walk starts from the campground. Take the track straight ahead, it’s a bit steep but it’s better walking up than trying to go down this way. It’s a loop track and the downhill is much easier on the knees.
The lookout is awesome with big views, you can see Saddle Island and Motuora Island in the distance. Plus you can look down into Mita Bay.
There is also a track down into the Mita Bay if you’d like to walk there. I didn’t go down. Follow the track back to the road, then look for the track again on your left. This will take you back to the campground in Sullivan’s Bay.
There is plenty of parking.
If you’re looking for a longer walk from Sullivan’s Bay with great views then the Cudlip Point Loop Track is awesome
