Area & Trail History
Back in the early 1900,This was the rail way line into Seddonville
The rail was to move the coal and timber out of the Charming Creek Valley.
It was quicker and cheaper to ship the coal from charming Creek coal mine by truck in to Seddonville then out by rail to the West coast.

Points of interest along the walk
Point 1: Chasm Creek Tunnel
The car park is on your right, hop through the gate and follow the old rain way line.
The tunnel is 50m long so a torch will be handy.
Once through the tunnel you walk across the old rail bridge and that is that.
Who said there were glow worms in the tunnel, we saw nothing.
So unless you are driving out to the Northen end of the Charming creek coal mine it is not worth the 47km drive out from Westport
